BRANTLY
EMPLOYEE SUPPORTS
B-2B HELICOPTER IN CHINA
Brantly
International, Inc. of Vernon, TX is sending Roy
Orr of Hobart, OK to Tianjin, China to support a
B-2B, two-seat helicopter manufactured by Brantly
International. Tianjin, China's third largest
city, is located 120 miles (200 Kms) South of
Beijing, China's capital city.
Mr. Orr is a very experienced pilot with equally
extensive experience maintaining helicopters. He
was an early employee of Brantly helicopter in
the 1960's and is currently the Manager of
Brantly's Flight Test Department.
The B-2B Mr. Orr will support was purchased by
the Tianjin Aviation Club of Tianjin, China, and
the aviation club is now donating the two-seat
helicopter to the Tianjin Municipality for aerial
observation.
Significantly, this is the first application of
using a helicopter as an aerial platform by a
municipality government in China. The Tianjin
police department will eventually use the Brantly
B-2B.
The transfer of ownership to the Municipality is
an important event which will be honored with an
official ceremony on September 28, and the
Tianjin Aviation Club requested a manufacturer's
representative support the aircraft, including
test flying the helicopter, prior to the ceremony
next Monday.
Mr. Orr will depart for Tianjin, China on
September 23 and is expected to be in China for
about two weeks before returning to work at
Brantly International in Vernon, TX.
